Filling Out and Updating Your Profile
You can edit your profile at any time by clicking on the ‘edit profile’ link on your home page under your profile picture. There are 6 sections to the profile- Basic Info, Cultural, Sexual, Lifestyle, Questions, and Dating. The menu to reach the different sections is just below the main menu. When you edit your profile, it will show on people’s homepage under ‘updated profiles’.
Viewing Your Profile
To see how your profile looks to other users, click on your profile photo on your home page.
Uploading a Profile Photo
If you did not upload a photo during registration, or if you want to change your photo, click on ‘edit profile photo’ on the home page under your profile picture. Even if you don’t want to publish a photo of your face, consider an image that represents you in some way. If you don’t have a profile photo, then your profile will not show up on people’s home pages, and will only be accessible by searching for it directly.
Uploading Additional Profile Photos
You may want to use various photos as your profile photo at different times. To upload additional photos that can be used as profile images simply repeat the process described above.
Designating a New Profile Photo
Go to your home page, then click ‘Edit profile photo’ in the left hand nav under your profile image to see the list of images available to be designated as your profile photo. The image that is currently your profile image will have an icon with a ‘x’ in a circle. Clicking this button will DELETE the image. All other images will have the icon to delete the image as well as a ‘check’ in a green circle as follows: To designate an image as your new profile photo, simply click the icon with the ‘check’ in the green circle.
Creating a Photo Album
To create a photo album, click on ‘photos’ under your profile picture on your home page and follow the instructions.
Rating Other Users Profiles
Click the stars atop another user’s profile, and you let them know that you like something about their profile. It’s a simple way of sending a very general message of interest, which might lead to a conversation about what exactly it was that captured your interest. The rating you see for a profile is always your rating, not an aggregate rating of all users that rated the individual.
Chatting in Real Time
When a user is online, a ‘Chat’ box appears beneath their photo in the left nav on their profile page. Simply type your text into the box and hit the return/enter button to initiate a live chat. You can also hover over their image and a dialog box will appear with the option to ‘chat’.
Emailing Other Users
You can contact users directly on the system by either hovering over their image and using the ‘contact button that appears in the dialog box or you can visit their profile and click the ‘contact’ button in the left nav under their profile image.
Creating Friend connections
To make a friend connection on Kotango, just go the person’s profile and click the ‘friend’ under their profile photo. It will send them an automatic email to alert them to your friend request.
Creating a Relationship
Once you 'friend' a user by clicking the 'friend' link on their profile (they must first acknowledge the request) you can further define the nature of your relationship. Click on ‘relationships’ under your profile photo on your homepage to define your real world relationships with people on Kotango.
Creating a Group
To create a group, you can either click on ‘groups’ ‘create new’ on your homepage under your profile photo, or you can select ‘add/ edit group’ from the top menu
Becoming a Member of a Group
Click the ‘Join Group’ button in the upper left hand corner. You should receive a notice that you have successfully joined the group and the button should change from ‘Join’ to ‘Leave’.
Contacting a Real Person for Help
Simply post to an appropriate forum or send an email by clicking on the Contact Us link in the footer.
To Delete Your Account
Simply click on the following link: Unregister.
